Have you been wanting to become a work at home mom?

I admit I didn’t imagine being a stay at home mom until I held my first-born in my arms. Then I couldn’t imagine leaving her.

But I hadn’t planned for that. I had, up till then, planned on returning to work after my three-month leave.

So what was I going to do now? I didn’t know how to become a work at home mom.

Let me tell you, I got busy! I started researching, and hustling, and planning, and implementing. It was a pretty stressful time, but I’m happy to say, I eventually came home in 2010. And I’ve been home ever since.

My journey to work at home mom provided me with many lessons–lessons I will share with you because I want your journey to be easier.

And if you’ve ever wondered how can moms work at home, this post will provide you with resources for several different ways to earn money from home.

And all of these resources are ones I have used. I do not recommend anything that I haven’t tested and found to be beneficial.

To be a successful mom blogger, you have to think like a successful blogger. You can no longer treat your blog like a hobby you work on every now and then when you feel like it.

You have to be disciplined and treat it like a business. This means continually learning how to improve and promote your blog so you can make money from it.

I often get asked what are the best jobs for stay at home moms. If you’re not ready to start your own business, that’s no problem. There are plenty of legitimate work from home jobs available online. I’ve worked as an independent contractor for each of the following companies and LOVED it!

Appen
What are the best jobs for stay at home moms? Many will say this company is one. Appen offers flexible, part-time, home-based positions in a variety of fields–from social media raters to language jobs, to micro-tasks. Apply for one (or more) of the many projects they have available today.

Lionbridge
Lionbridge is a global communications platform that’s pretty similar to Appen. Their home-based positions include testers, raters, and curators and pays hourly per project.

Hire My Mom
Hire My Mom is a site dedicated to helping moms work from home. I found some of the best social media manager and blogging jobs on this site. There are a variety of businesses posting jobs in numerous fields, so you’re sure to find something that fits your skills. Hire My Mom does charge a quarterly fee, but it’s relatively affordable and was worth it for me.

Work at home jobs for moms - VIP Kid

VIP Kid
Earn up to $22/hr by teaching English online. You work as an independent contractor and you get to pick your own hours. As a teacher, you work with students from all across China leading one-on-one classes. The curriculum and online classroom is provided, so you can just concentrate on teaching.

#6 – Side Hustles

When I first decided to become a work at home mom, I was at a point I needed to earn some extra money fast. Since I hadn’t had time to plan ahead, I knew I needed to hustle. But, what kind of work could I do from home? Surveys.

Don’t groan yet. I made some quick cash in my downtime just by filling out simple surveys. It was an easy way to earn some extra money to help fund my Coming Home account and pay bills. Here are the top ones I used:
