So I’ve been home with my kids for almost 10 years now. When I first came home, I wasn’t sure I’d make it one year, and now it’s been over nine years. Amazing.

When I was working full-time at my corporate job, I had a few mom friends (and knew of several others) who quit to stay at home (some in a big, showy way), while the rest of us glared angrily celebrated their good fortune. Then, within six months, before the jealousy sadness of their departure had even worn off, they were back at work again.

What? They had escaped the corporate rat race and came back? Why?

Journey to Work at Home Mom

Have you been wanting to become a work at home mom?

I admit I didn’t imagine being a stay at home mom until I held my first-born in my arms. Then I couldn’t imagine leaving her.

But I hadn’t planned for that. I had, up till then, planned on returning to work after my three-month leave.

So what was I going to do now? I didn’t know how to become a work at home mom.

Let me tell you, I got busy! I started researching, and hustling, and planning, and implementing. It was a pretty stressful time, but I’m happy to say, I eventually came home in 2010. And I’ve been home ever since.
