Last week, our KISS challenge was to slow down while driving. To give yourself extra time to make it to your destination and to enjoy the drive.
Too often we rush through life, missing all of the beautiful wonders that are all around us. When we purposely slow down, we can release stress and discover a whole new world.
I did slow down most of the week, so much so, my kids asked why I was driving so slow. They even tried to get me to pass drivers like I usually did. That was confirmation to me that I was on the right track to stopping to enjoy life more (though it may take my kids a while to adjust).
This week’s KISS is taken from one of my favorite sites, Flylady.net. I was introduced to her by my sister years ago and I love her tips on organizing and cleaning.
I had a toddler and baby at home at the time and I was still working fulltime at my corporate job. I was one overwhelmed and exhausted momma. I needed some solutions in handling it all, and I found her tips practical and easy to implement.
One of her tips that really made a difference for me, not only physically (my home), but mentally as well was her Flying Lesson on Shining Your Sink.
When I first read this lesson, I thought, What? A lesson on how to get your sink shiny? Will this really make a difference?
But it did make a big difference.
Her lesson states to start with emptying the sink of all dishes and then begin cleaning, I mean really cleaning – using a toothbrush, bleach, a powdered cleanser and Windex. And the results are amazing!
It felt so good to wake up each morning to a beautiful, shiny, clean sink. It was such a sense of accomplishment.

Are you up for the challenge?
As usual, I’ll check in with you next week.
