Mondays meant my husband was heading back to work and homeschooling was beginning for me and the kids. It also meant I would be juggling many different roles – wife, mom, cook, teacher, and entrepreneur.
I often thought, You need some easy steps to simplify your life.
So Sundays became the day I would plan steps that would simplify my week. Usually it was making a large batch of my homemade oatmeal waffles, prepping my daily smoothie ingredients, planning my client’s work, or preparing the week’s homeschool materials.
At least one step to help me juggle it all.
It may not seem like much, but it makes a huge difference in the upcoming week. I usually complete more than one step, but the goal is to plan for the upcoming week and do all I can to make the week easier.
So the thing is, I don’t like doing things alone.
I like to have friends join me to share with, get ideas from, and give and receive support. So I decided to create KISS – Keep it Simple Sunday to encourage us all.
I will be giving us a challenge for the week – one small step we can take that will help simplify our week and our lives.
I’ll offer ideas in one of the following areas: Working from Home, Healthy Living, or Homeschooling. They will be small, actionable steps we can take that will help our week run just a little smoother. And as we simplify each week, we will begin to simplify our lives.
I want you to chime in and offer your ideas, feedback and support.
We all have found ways to make our weeks run a little better, or we’ve read tips that we’ve been waiting to implement. If we share, we can learn from each other.
Are you in?
Great! Here is this week’s challenges:
Working from Home
Write it down. There are hundreds of planners and calendars out there that promise to keep you organized. You can spend hours finding the right one. But it doesn’t have to be fancy. It’s what you write that counts.
Plan your work for the week by deciding what you will do when. Start with a master list of tasks that are due that week, then break them down by day. But don’t limit your planning to just your business. Include the tasks in the other areas of your life, like household chores, exercising, meal planning, etc.
I created a free business planner for work at home moms that you may like. It has categories for all the things you do in your day. Give it a try or create one of your own.
Wishing you much success this week as we take steps to simplify our lives!
